Cynthia H. MillerSept. 7, 1939 - Oct. 10, 2016SOUTH BEND - Cynthia H. Miller (Cindy), 77, of South Bend, IN, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016, at Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 7, 1939, in Beaver Falls, PA, to the late Charles F. and Lucille (MacDonald) Holtzmann. On March 29, 1958, in Arlington, VA, she was united in marriage to James H. Miller, Jr., who preceded her in death on November 22, 1983.Cynthia is survived by two daughters, Victoria Ann Miller of South Bend, IN, and Christina Lynne (Douglas) Smith of South Bend, IN; a son, Marc Lee (Renee) Miller of Anderson, IN; five grandchildren, David Smith, Stephen Smith, Dawson Miller, Grant Miller and Avry Miller; sister, Helen (Jim) Plummer of Hagerstown, MD; sister-in-law, Susan Deaver of Virginia; brother-in-law, Allen (Judy) Miller of Texas; and brother-in-law, Edward (Sue) Miller of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.Cynthia worked as an operator at the processing center at 1st Source Bank. She and her husband served in the church in many capacities and was a very strong woman of faith and grace, who loved the Lord and all who crossed her path. Cynthia was an amazing example of a devoted wife, loving mother and a loyal friend. She was a grandmother (GMA) who was the president of the fan club for each of her five grandchildren. If you knew Cindy you knew her grandchildren. Her support knew no limits. If family or friends needed something, she would do all in her power to help, and beyond that prayed liked a warrior. To all of Cindy's friends from the knitting group at RiverBend Cancer Services, you touched her life in such a special way. You were always on her mind and in her thoughts and prayers. Your group was a God-sent blessing to fill a need in her life. Thank You!The family would like to thank Center for Hospice Home Care staff, Treoge staff and Hospice House of South Bend staff for all of the support, loving care and dignity shown to our Mother during her final days. We would also like to express our appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Michael Method and his staff both in Michiana and Indianapolis. He demonstrated caring and compassionate treatment each and every time not only to our Mother, Cynthia, but to us as her family and support system.We express our thanks and gratitude to Dr. John Bulger and staff. The respect shown and care given at every meeting was a comfort to her and gave her confidence in the decision being made in her treatments. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Scottish Rite, 427 N. Main Street, South Bend, IN 46601. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.
