On February,20 1989, Cortez J Roney was born in Columbia, South Carolina to Tyrone Roney SR.and Terry Lyme Clark. Cortes was a member of friendly temple missionary Baptist Church. He excepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Friendly Temple Missionary  Baptist Church. In 2007, Cortez graduated from Brookland Cauvery High School. He played varsity basketball for the Bearcats and worked several summers for the Urban League Youth Program.

Cortez was a strong hearted person who was compassionate and always happy. There were several dull moments with him. He was very playful, Sometimes to the point of aggravation.He loves being a big brother and enjoyed spending time with his family.He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

On Thursday, January 16, 2020 Cortez departed this life after thirty years. He leaves to cherish his memories:his mother, Terrie Clark; four brothers Tyrone Roney, Nicholas Wright, Charles Hamilton, and Reginald Sussex. Three sisters, Nikole Randell, Alexis Rossel, and Torease Rossel.
