Corinne Peralta Robey, 83, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Liberty Commons Assisted Living.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 14 at Infant of Prague Catholic Church. Father Thomas Davis will be officiating, and the burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Mrs. Robey was born on Oct. 11, 1929, in Kingston, Jamaica. She was the daughter of the late Reynaldo and Euraldine Peralta, and was also preceded in death by sisters, Norma Chinn and Hermine Barnett, and her husband of 49 years, Richard Anthony Robey. Mrs. Robey loved her family and cherished caring for her five children. Being a wife and mother brought so much joy to her life. She worked endless hours in the home, and also worked part-time for many years at Roses Department Store. Mrs. Robey was a devout Catholic who prayed always not only for her family and friends, but also for anyone she would meet. She was so kind to everyone and had such a sweet and gentle spirit. This earth has truly lost an angel.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane R. Scarborough and her husband, Steve of Swansboro and Julie R. Henderson and her husband, Jay, of Jacksonville; three sons, David Robey and his wife Karla of Palmyra, Va., Robert Robey of Cincinnati, and Phil Robey and his wife, Debbie, of Charlotte; two sisters, Mervis Worotynec of Toronto, Canada, and Karlene Clarke of Kingston, Jamaica; 13 grandchildren, Emily and Katherine Scarborough, Melinda and Christopher Robey, Anna Johansson and husband Christian, Brian Robey and wife Elise, Sarah, Mary Kate, Matthew and Ashley Robey, Justin Robey, Alexis and Preston Henderson.
The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at Jones Funeral Home, and following the burial at the home of Julie and Jay Henderson, 103 Huntington Court, Jacksonville.
