Constance Hooke, 98, of Brooklyn, New York, passed Friday, May 08, 2020. Constance was born to Benjamin and Elmazine Hooke on April 10, 1923 in Paradise, Westmoreland Jamaica. She was the 8th of 14 children. Raised in Paradise she was schooled at the Ferris school and later at the age of 19 she left Westmoreland to pursue further education in Kingston. She worked at Kingston Technical high school in Kingston, Jamaica for over 20 years where she was in charge of the cafeteria. She also pursued a career as a chef and she was a mighty good one at it. She always had her own method of making the cakes and boy was it always delicious. Constance loved listening to music and enjoyed sewing, she was an excellent seamstress and always dressed very fashionable. 

Constance migrated to New York as a young woman where she pursued a career in home health care. Although moving to a foreign country she never left out her Jamaican food, she absolutely loved it. Constance was a jovial soul and a joy the be around. She enjoyed entertaining for all and had many gatherings for family and friends for whom she catered. She loved going back and always provided help for her community in Kingston. She often visited Jamaica in Christmas bearing gifts of toys for the children. Constance was very much involved with the seniors in her community at Rutland Adult Day program where she loved baking and cooking for them. 

On May 8^th, 2020 Constance made her transition to be with her only son Glenmore Castell. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Hooke, Grandchildren; Prince Castell, Michelle Castell, Ijah Castell, Tamanika Finikin, Cashione Castell, 9 Great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

There will be a "Safe Distance Public Viewing" at Granby's Funeral Home located at 4021 White Plains Rd, Bronx NY, 10466 on Saturday June 6, 2020 at 9am-10am. Interment at Cypress Hill Cemetery in Brooklyn NY.
