Colbert Calvin Johnson, 61, died at Symphony of Mesa on Monday, November 10, 2014 due to complications with cancer. Colbert was born on September 12, 1953 in Sacaton, Arizona. Colbert worked at the City of Yuma for 20 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator and finished his career in the sanitation division in 2013. Colbert was an accomplished Farrier. He was a kind, patient man who loved horses and was passionate about keeping their feet healthy. He was also an accomplished team roper. His children remember him as a kind, gentle, driven, loving father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.Colbert is survived by his children, Dawn Franklin of Plano, Texas and Dakota Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters, Ruby Carrillo of Coolidge and Lahoma Cardenas of Blackwater. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita; father, Clarence; and brothers, Adolf, Eddie, Dewey, Jerry, and Dewayne.Colbert was laid to rest on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Blackwater Cemetery in Coolidge, Arizona.Please sign the guestbook at
