Clemente V. CuevaVentura, CAClemente V. Cueva passed away on March 22, 2017. He was born on March 6, 1933.As a young boy, Victor, the youngest of his family worked in the fields with his parents. He lost his father to throat cancer at the tender age of 6 yrs. old. From then on, he was working and living with siblings while his mother worked as a live-in maid. As young man working in the fields, he met and fell in love with the love of his life, Maria Ruiz. He went into Active Duty in the Army from May 1953 to 1955 and was Honorably Discharged. He returned to serve from 1955 to 1960 in the Army Reserve. Our mom and dad were married on June 1, 1956. From this love, they had six children and raised many, two beautiful nieces: Sylvia Escobedo and Jennie Barrios, as well as, beautiful grandchildren: Sylvia and Alexas Cueva, and Santiago and Monique, in addition to their own children, with love. Dad and Mom were the rocks of the family, together from 1956 to 2005 until the passing of his beautiful wife, Maria.Victor loved BBQs, music, family, and having beers with family and friends on the wall after a hard day's work and singing of few songs with his friends.Dad was a life long member of Laborers Union 585 as a construction worker at Berry's Construction and enjoyed 25 yrs. of retirement. Dad was really happy when his buddies came to visit him after he had retired.Victor was survived by his daughter, Irene Gutierrez (Louie); sons: Ruben, Fidel, Jimmy (Amy), Gabriel (Rose); 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Helardio; his mother, Fransisca; his wife, Maria of 49 years of marriage; his son, Victor Cueva; 3 sisters, and a brother.Thank you to all who were lovingly involved in Dad's care - you know who you are; and to Leslie, Kathy, and the staff at the Coumadin Clinic and at Livingston Memorial for the caring help that allowed Dad to rest in peace at home.Family and friends are invited to visiting hours Wednesday March 29, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. Interment with Military Honors will be Friday March 31, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park.
