Claudia R. Burns was born on Dec. 7, 1936 and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016. She has joined her husband of over 56 years, Alexander Burns, who predeceased her in June 2012. She was also predeceased by her brother, Ray Brundage. She is survived by her three daughters, Bonnie (Mark) Johnson, Alane (Lane) Taylor and Brenda (Cal) Taylor; along with two sisters, Beth (Anthony) Sarotte and Ruth (Ron) Rogowicz; and one brother, Donald (Laura) Brundage; as well as two sisters-in-law, Marge Bentley and Shirley Burns. Also surviving her are her six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren with two more to join the family in 2017 and many nieces and nephews. She leaves behind quite a legacy and a hole in all of our hearts. She was raised in St. Clair Shores, where she met her high school sweetheart and married him right out of high school. They traveled with the military to a few states, but called Oscoda home where they lived for over 45 years. During that time, she worked at Fraser Optical and developed many friendships along her journey in life. She was a Christian woman who instilled a love of the Lord to her family and taught them many lessons in life. Her three daughters all called her their best friend and will deeply miss her, but know in their hearts there is a far better place than this place called Earth and she is joining her loved ones there. Until it is our time to be with them, we will know without a doubt – she is dancing with our Lord and Savior! One of mom's favorite collections were her angels and now we know she is surrounded by them and we find comfort knowing that. We were all blessed to have her in our lives and to have called her our Mom, Grandma, Gigi, Sister, or Friend. She truly had a loving heart and impacted many and truly was a gift from God. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 22 from 5 p.m. until the time of service beginning at 6 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Intelicare Hospice of Standish or a local hospice organization. Condolences may be offered online at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
