Clara E. Birchall Tokarsyck Jenkins, passed away on June 7, 2007 at the age of 85. She was born on December 19, 1921 to Henry & Mary (Edmondson) Birchall. She was one of 5 children. Clara's father was killed in the Cle Elum/Roslyn coal mines when she was five years old. Her mother later married Eugene Wright. Clara attended grade school in So.Cle Elum and high school in Cle Elum. In 1938 she married Frank Tokarsyck and to this union were born 2 children: daughter Frances Jean, and son, James Emery. When the mines started closing down they moved to Renton. Frank worked for GE and Clara for JC Penney Co. in Seattle for 12 years. She later went to work in the office for the Seattle/King County Visiting Nurse Service. Frank passed away with cancer in 1977. Clara retired in 1982. In 1987 she married Morris Jenkins and moved back to Cle Elum. In 2003 Clara and Morris moved to Renton due to declining health and to be nearer both families. Clara belonged to VFW Auxiliary, RSVP, & AARP secretary for 14 years. She and Morris were both very active in getting the Senior Center built in Cle Elum. Morris passed away in April, 2006. He was 97 years old. Clara was preceded in death by her mother, father, step father, sister Mary, and brothers, Frank, Peter, and James. She is survived by her daughter, Frances (Donald) Nelson, and son, James (Judy) Tokarsyck, and two step sons: Adrian (Greta) Jenkins, and Allan (Kathy) Jenkins. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, sister in law, Marjorie Birchall, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Greenwood Funeral Home, Renton, Washington. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 12, 2006 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 12:00 pm with interment following at 1:00 pm, Greenwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and Hospice of Seattle.
