Charlotte Louise Green1930 ~ 2016Charlotte Louise Green, 86, of Island Park, Idaho, passed away on September 23, 2016 at the Idaho Falls Hospital of natural causes. Charlotte was born on February 17, 1930 in Boise, Idaho to Barton and Laura Rea. She was raised on a farm in the Kuna-Mora area, the eldest of four children including a brother, Bob, and two sisters, Barbara and Dorothy. She learned to sew as a youngster with her Grandma Rea and treasured and shared that all her life.After graduation, Charlotte married Leland Green. They had 68 wonderful years together raising four children; Gary, Janet, Diane, and Karen. Charlotte was devoted to her family and we remember camping trips, hikes, fishing, and a magic pan that fried maple bars, made fudge, and popcorn. Charlotte made most of her girl's clothes including prom dresses and a wedding gown, teaching them to sew in turn creating a lifelong skill they enjoyed together.They retired in Island Park where everyone loved to visit and Charlotte enjoyed entertaining, playing cards or dominoes in the evening. Breakfast or lunch at Meadow Creek Lodge was always a favorite of visitors. Charlotte loved her Quilt Guild, Targhee Ladies, and Red Hat Ladies. She had many special friends in these groups and their activities were a big part of her life. She enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, crocheting, and most of all sewing, making quilts for everyone she could think of. She loved to visit on the phone with everyone and especially got a kick out of visits with the great-grandkids, always interested in their activities.We will love you and miss you forever; you shared the best of yourself with us and enriched our lives.Charlotte is survived by her husband of 68 years, Leland, her children; Gary (Judy) Green, Janet (Jim) Swopes, Diane (Richard) Dick, Karen (Bill) Busse, sisters Barbara Phillips and Dorothy (Jim) Gibson. Grandchildren, Michelle Scott, Heather Spicer, Kati Rave', Jason Swopes, Becky Thompson, Jody Dick, Marianne Debban, John McPherson, Greg McPherson, and Ann Harms. Great-grandchildren; Danielle, Brandon, Trenton, Kassi, Kristen, Travis, Alex, Amber, Tiffany, Emily, Tyler, Tristan, Joshua, Charles, Sierra, Kelsey, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Melissa, Hannah, Mackenzie and Madison and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandson Todd Swopes, brother Bob Rea, brother-in-law Gordon Phillips, sister-in-law Ruth Marx and Family.Private family services are being planned.
