Vande Sande, Charles P. "Chuck"Charles P. "Chuck" Vande Sande, 96, Green Bay, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 after battling several health issues. He was born on December 11, 1920, in Green Bay to Arthur and Elvira (Wolfe) Vande Sande.Charles graduated from Green Bay East High School, Class of 1938. He joined the National Guard and in 1938 joined the U.S. Coast Guard, retiring in 1959. Charles served during World War II and the Korean War and received many medals. He had many stories to tell his family and friends.Charles was employed as an engineer with the Milwaukee Road Railroad and retired in 1982.On May 18, 1949, he married Agnes "Peggy" Kuehling. She died on July 30, 1968. Charles then married Lois (Kane, Renpaul) on July 20, 1973.Charles enjoyed the Packers, was an avid reader, and liked to cook.He is survived by his wife, Lois; one son, Jerry (Kathleen) Vande Sande; one daughter, Susan Rogala; two grandchildren, Kelly (Wes) Kobylarczyk and Chris (Jessica) Dobry; great-grandchildren, James Dobry (Brittany), Laura Kirby (fiancé, Jeff Steichen), Wyatt Kirby, and Kylee Robenhorst; and a brother-in-law, Jerry (Lenora) Kane.Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Agnes; two great-grandsons, Kyle Dobry and Shawn Dobry; son-in-law, Richard Rogala; his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Vande Sande and Ruth (Jerry) Hucek; brother, Robert (Agnes) Vande Sande; and a brother-in-law, Bob (Freddie) Kane.Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Saturday, July 1.
