Charles KempNov. 09, 1969 - Dec. 16, 2016NILES - Charles Kemp, 47, of Niles, passed away at South Bend Hospice House on Friday, December 16, 2016 with his family by his side.Charles was born on November 9, 1969 to Joseph and Patricia (Adams) Kemp in South Bend, Indiana as one of fourteen children. Charles graduated from Niles High School, Class of 1987. After high school he went on to become a successful plumber. In 1998 Charles had his first child, Jessica. On July 16, 1994 he wed Sandy and gained a son, Matt and in 1996 he and Sandy had twins, Charles Jr. and Fredrick. He was an avid softball player and enjoyed listening to music but above all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. His life revolved around his family, he was always a stand up guy who would step in anywhere he was needed. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Kemp, Jr.; grandparents, Joseph Kemp, Sr., Mabel Kemp, Paul W. Adams and Ozetta Adams. He is survived by his mother and step father, Patricia (Joe) Ramsey; wife, Sandra Kemp; children, Jessica Dickinson of South Bend, Matthew Hudson of South Bend, Charles Kemp, Jr. of Niles and Fredrick Kemp of Niles; six grandchildren, Chrishawn Woods, Aaliyah Kirschbaum, Domanic Woods, Zada Hudston, Matthew Hudson and Isaac Hudson; siblings, Kimberly Easley, Kelly Kemp, Michelle (George) Pitts, Lisa (David) Douglas, Stephanie (Johnathan Kyles) Kemp, Peggy (Joe) Merriweather, Jewell Thompson-Porter, Jackie Kemp, Mikey Kemp, Paul Kemp, Terry Kemp, Joe (Amy) Kemp and Jermaine (Julie) Kemp; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.Funeral services for Charles will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Brown Funeral Home in Niles at 2:00 p.m. with a time of visitation two hours prior.Those wishing to leave a message of condolence or upload a photo of Charles for the family may do so at www.BrownFuneralHomeNiles.com or www.Facebook.com/BrownFuneralHomeNiles.Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Niles.
