Charles W. Chuck Gulbransen1935 - 2014Charles W. Chuck Gulbransen, 78, of Kenosha, died on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Azura Memory Care.A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was born on May 12, 1935, and was the son of the late Henry and Bertha (Sheparek) Gulbransen. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.From Jan. 8, 1954, until his honorable discharge on Jan. 7, 1957, he served our country in the U.S. Marines.On April 24, 1955, at St. Casimir Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Nancy Ruffalo. Their union was later dissolved.Chuck was employed for over 30 years with AMC/Chrysler Corporation. He retired in 1990 as a paint department supervisor. He also held many part time janitorial positions.He enjoyed music, singing, taking special road trips with his family across the U.S., camping and motorcycle touring. Chuck was a gifted gardener and liked growing flowers and vegetables. He was an avid Bear and Cub fan and had a huge clock collection. His great sense of humor was unforgettable. Many unknowingly fell for his Nice Shoes trick. Chuck loved spending time with his family and sharing a shot and beer with friends. Chuck is survived by his six children, Karen Gulbransen, Kathryn Downey, Gary Nick (Vicki) Gulbransen, Kim Spann, Jennifer Gulbransen and Matthew (Shelli) Gulbransen; seven grandchildren, Rhiannon McKentry, Amanda Gulbransen, Austin Downey, Jill Spann, Robert Bolton, Maddie Gulbransen and Mikayla Gulbransen; and four great grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother, Robert (Dorothy) Gulbransen of Napa, Calif. and many loving nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gregg Gulbransen; three brothers, Eugene, Henry and Richard Gulbransen; and two sisters, Mary Ellen Sissy Scapecchi and Cynthia Meurer.Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with full military honors following. Private interment will take place in St. Casimir Cemetery.
