Charles J. GohringBLUE ROCK: Charles "Chub" J. Gohring, 84, of Blue Rock passed away peacefully on February 18, 2016 at Willow Haven Care Center in Zanesville.Chub was born on July 30, 1931 in Hemlock, Ohio. He was the son of Charles Gohring Sr. and Flossie Mae Gohring. He previously worked as a janitor for the Franklin Local School district before going to work for Kalicks Junk Yard in Zanesville. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed cracking walnuts and hunting ginseng.Chub is survived by his three daughters Betty Jo Bernardi of Blue Rock, Sharon Kay Pack (Sonny Clark) of Gratiot, and Sandra Kennedy of Blue Rock; his eight grandchildren, Shantay Weaver, Cortney Vandermark, Charlie Kennedy, Isaac Kennedy, Julie Kennedy, Melissa Kennedy, Dale Kennedy Jr. and Kayla Kennedy; his siblings, John (Norma) Gohring of Blue Rock and Linda Allen of Zanesville and his best friend Dave Foraker.In addition to his parents, Chub is preceded in death by his wife Mary Matilda Gohring who passed away in 1985; his sister Betty Lou Gohring; his brother Donald Gohring and a nephew William Gohring.Calling hours for Chub will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be held 2 pm Sunday with Rev. Karen Osborn officiating.
