Hartenberger, Cecilia "Dottie"Cecilia "Dottie" Hartenberger, age 93, passed away peacefully at Pine Haven Christian Community on November 7, 2017.Dottie was born on April 18, 1924 in Mauston, WI and moved to Sheboygan at an early age. She was a graduate of the 1942 class of North High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and the Tri-Hi-Y. Following high school graduation, Dottie accepted a position with the Bank of Sheboygan where she met her future husband, Leo Hartenberger. On June 10, 1947, Dottie and Leo were united in marriage at Holy Name Catholic Church. They enjoyed 53 years of married life until Leo's death in 2001. They had five children and an active and happy household. Dottie was a devoted wife and mother and involved herself in many activities. She was an active member of Holy Name Catholic Church and School where she served as secretary to the PTA as well as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout troop leader. Dottie was employed by the Visiting Nurses Association for 10 years; a position she thoroughly enjoyed and where she made many friends. Dottie loved life and had broad interests which she embraced with joy and enthusiasm. She enjoyed reading, cooking, playing Bridge, entertaining and shopping garage and estate sales. She loved sharing her home with others and her dedication to her family and friends were the center of her life.Traveling was a real thrill for Dottie. Following Leo's death, she found a fellow traveling enthusiast, Ted Mullen who was a former high school friend, with whom she traveled extensively. She was very proud to say that they enjoyed visiting more than 75 different places together.Survivors include three daughters, Mary (Michael) Trautschold of Madison, WI, Barbara (Danny) Pierce of Mancos, CO, Marjorie Williams of Farmington, MN, and two sons, John (Kathy) Hartenberger of Neenah, WI and Thomas (Nancy) Hartenberger of Appleton, WI plus eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.A private celebration of Dottie's life will be held by her immediate family at a later date.
