WEST UNION, WV Carolyn M. Swiger, 70, formerly of York died Monday, February 9, 2015, at Manor Care North. She was the wife of the late Alford B. Swiger. Carolyn was born on September 3, 1944 in Cockeysville, Md., daughter of the late William H. Kyger and the late Onie (Lamb) Kyger Shiflett. She retired from Harley Davidson Motor Co. after 31 years of service, having worked as a welder and then in the maintenance department. The viewing will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. 902 Mt. Rose Ave. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard B. Starr officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. She is survived by four children, Paul Shiflett, Kevin Viands, Karen Steely, and Onie "Dru" Bell; stepchildren, Gary Viands, Randy Viands, and Vicki Breeden; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother, William H. Kyger; three sisters, Bernice L. Stone, Barbara J. Peterson, and Lois Simms. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Benner, and a brother, James R. Kyger.
