Carolyn S. Davis Carolyn S. Davis, 65, wife of David "Daybo" W. Smith, of Beaufort, SC, died Monday, January 25, 2016 in Beaufort Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 12:00noon to 1:30pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:30pm, Thursday, in Carl Anderson Memorial Chapel. Carolyn was born on August 2, 1950 in Quincey, MA. She is the daughter of the late Robert T. Rose and Frances Barrow Rose. Carolyn is a former Director of Nursing at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. At Beaufort-Jasper-Hampton Comprehensive Health Services from 1983 until 2015, she was a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and the Migrant Health Director. She was also a board member of the National Farmworkers Health Association. Locally, Carolyn is President of the Shell Point Neighborhood Association and a member of the Beaufort County Planning Commission. She is a graduate of Leadership Beaufort and the Master Naturalist program at the Lowcountry Institute. As a longtime member of the Beaufort Masters Swim Team, she holds a number of state records within her age group. Surviving in addition to her husband, Daybo of Beaufort, SC; are one brother, Steven J. Rose of Louisville, KY and one sister, Pamela R. Winters of Bowling Green, KY; two nieces, Christy R. Mitchell and Angela C. Winters. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Friends of Caroline Hospice, 1110 13th Street, Port Royal, SC 29935. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
