Carolyn A. RicksNorfolk - Carolyn A. Ricks "Bump", 69, of 8100 Driftwood Dr. went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2016. She was born on February 28, 1947 to the late Geneva Bell and James Hawkins. Carolyn is also predeceased by her granddaughter, Taylor R. Ricks, 2 sisters and 5 brothers. She worked for 36 years as a School Crossing Guard for the Norfolk Police Department. Carolyn was a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Alexander Ricks, Sr.; two daughters, Crystal Ricks and Lakesha Ricks; two sons, Alexander Ricks, Jr. and DeCarius Ricks; two sisters, Annette Short and Claudette Gaskins; Seven grandchildren, Shevon Ricks, Bianca Ricks, Voneishia Ricks, Tyree Ricks, Ramya Ricks, Destiny Kello and Milton Ferguson; great grandson, Jayden Tyson and a host of niece, nephews, cousins and friends.A funeral service will be held, 11am, Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, 2201 Wingfield Ave. Chesapeake, VA. A viewing will be held, 4pm-8pm, Friday, November 18, 2016 at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby St. Burial will be held at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake, VA. Family and Friends will assemble at 8100 Driftwood Dr. Norfolk, VA one hour prior to the service for procession to the funeral home.
