Caroline Kisner1916 - 2013Caroline Kisner of Wilmot, Wis., entered the Gates of Heaven on Friday June 21, 2013 in the company of her loving family.Caroline was born on Dec. 30, 1916 in Chicago, Ill., to the late Andrew and Caroline (Musser) Furster. Soon after her birth, Caroline and her parents moved to Woodstock, Ill., where she lived until the age of 11 when she returned to Chicago with her parents and two siblings.She attended schools in Chicago until the age of 16 when she had to quit to go to work at the Louisiana Fruit Market to help support her family. While working there, she met the love of her life, Andrew Peter Kisner. On July 24, 1938, Caroline and Andrew eloped and were married in Valparaiso, Ind. After returning home to Chicago, Caroline continued to work at the fruit market while Andrew began working at the Nagel and Chase Co.In 1941, their son, Andrew Joseph was born and while keeping their respective jobs, Caroline and her husband established the fly-tying material/fishing equipment business known as Sonnies.In 1947, their daughter, Barbara was born and the following year the family moved to Wilmot, Wis., where Sonnies was established on the Fox River across from the Dam. Caroline continued to own and run the store until 2005 when she closed it.In addition to being an entrepreneur and avid fisherwomen, Caroline was an accomplished seamstress and jack-of-all-trades. If something needed fixing or mending, Caroline was not afraid to tackle the job.She continued to remain active in her wholesale fishing business until declining health forced her to stop in 2011. She continued to enjoy her sewing until just before her death.Caroline is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Randy); daughter-in-law, Glenna Kisner; three grandsons, Kirk (Susan), Tal (Dianet) and Shane (Gabriela) seven great grandchildren, Rebecca, Michael (Charity), Danny, Gina (Kevin) Tal Joseph, Andrew and Ava; and eight great great grandchildren-Margaret, Ella, Avin, Shiloh, Kerrigan, Christian, Oliver and Brice.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew Peter, her son, Andrew Joseph; her brother Joseph and her sister-Dorothy.Carolines family would like to give special thanks to Doctor Leonardo Montemurro and his staff for the loving care he provided her during the past six years. The family would also like to thank Grande Prairie Rehabilitation and Health Center and the staff at Burr Oak Manor of Genoa City for their wonderful, thoughtful care of Caroline during the last days of her long and productive life.A visitation will be held on Saturday June 29, 2013 at the Haase-Lockwood and Assoc. Funeral Home in Twin Lakes from 10 a.m. until Services at 12 Noon.
