Carole Louise Nestor Obituary

Mar 28, 1929 - Jan 09, 2017

This obituary is administered by:
Carole Louise NestorThousand Oaks, CAMarch 28, 1929 - June 9, 2017To truly describe Carole's life in just a few short paragraphs is an impossible feat. To express her loving nature, her beauty and kindness is a daunting task. So maybe we should start with the facts.Carole was born on March 28, 1929 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, where she lived with her mom, dad, sister, and brother. When Carole was 17 she met the love of her life, Gene Nestor. After a few short weeks of knowing each other and falling in love they got engaged in December 1946 and were married August 16, 1947. Soon after their marriage they moved to California where the expansion of the Nestor Family took place. Carole and Gene's 6 children: Troy(Judy), Craig(Cathy), Cheryl(Chris), Kevin(Kathy), Ginger(Eric), Teri(Greg); 17 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. And we are pretty certain that number will be increasing. Even though our Mom had so many family members to love and care for it never diminished the amount of love and caring she gave to whoever she met. She always met everyone with a smile and a hug. She made everyone feel like part of her family. She was a strong-willed woman with her opinions but she always respected others' opinions and loved everyone for who they were.During her lifetime, our Mom loved so many things. She loved music and dancing, painting, gardening, traveling, going to church, visiting with friends, taking care of children, cooking, teaching and reading. She knew what was going on in the world. She was always up-to-date on current events.Throughout her beautiful life time our Mom showed us all so many amazing ways to love. She cared for us when we were young and as adults. She dedicated herself to her loving husband and family unselfishly. She prayed endlessly for all of us. She listened to our problems and woes. She was our greatest cheerleader during our accomplishments, even if they weren't that big. She was always proud of us. She showed us what it means to love one another. She taught us about God and how we owe our lives to Him. She always took such tender loving care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She encouraged without pushing, she listened without judging, and she loved unconditionally.Thank you Mom for being such an amazing person. One we can always look up to and aspire to be like. Our Mom was truly a person who always lived by Jesus' 2 greatest commandments, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind. And the second, "Love one another as I have loved you."We love you Mom.Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 13 at Griffin Family Funeral Chapels, 101 E. Wilbur Rd., Thousand Oaks. Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 14 at St. Pascal Baylon Church, 155 E.
