Carlota Romero, 82, a lifetime resident of Mora, passed away on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 at her home in Mora.She was born on Sept, 13, 1931 in Mora to the late Victoriano Silva and Guadalupita Alaird.She was a lifelong Catholic and a member of St. Gertrude's Church in Mora. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to read, cook and crochet. Most especially, she loved her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victoriano and Guadalupita Silva; husband, Leo Romero; brother, Victor Silva; sisters, Leonor Silva and Bertha Cordova; and infant son, Joseph Romero.She is survived by her children, Johnny Romero and wife, Frances of Las Vegas, Florence Romero and husband, Randy, Sammy Romero, Stella Gallegos and husband, Paul, Elmos Romero, Arlene Romero and husband, Augustine, April Romero, all of Mora; grandchildren, Adam Romero, Tony Romero, Carlos Romero, Bianca Romero, Brandi Romero, Paul Gallegos Jr., Jessica Gallegos, Victoria Gallegos, Daniel Gallegos, Jeremy Romero, Shannon Romero, Justin Romero, Renee Padilla, Raul Espino; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mabel Romero and husband, Joe, Priscilla Silva and husband, Jerry all of Santa Fe; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Gertrude's Church in Mora. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Gertrude's Church with Father Dennis Dolter as celebrant. Cremation has taken place. Final resting place will be at the Mora Cemetery in Mora.
