Carlos J. Montoya, 28, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014 at his residence in Las Vegas.He was born on Aug. 3, 1986 in Las Vegas to Michael R. Montoya and Anna M. Garcia.A Catholic, and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas.He is preceded in death by his father, Michael R. Montoya, and paternal grandmother, Maria Elena Montoya.He is survived by his daughter, Cierra Jade Montoya, and her mother, Rita Raya, both of Las Vegas; mother, Anna M. Garcia; brothers, Steven E. Montoya (Brianna Lopez), Raymond M. Montoya, all of Las Vegas; paternal grandfather, Carlos Montoya of Las Vegas; aunts, Ruby Lovato and husband, Frank, of Las Vegas, Gloria Gallegos and husband, Willie, of Watrous; uncles, Tommy Gallegos and wife, Gloria, of Mora, Benny Garcia and wife, Lillian, of Las Vegas; cousins, Charlene Lopez and husband, Carlos, Eric Lovato, Roberta Lovato, Trini Gallegos, Shanise Gallegos, Tommy Gallegos and Daniel Gallegos; close friend, Daniel Abeyta; numerous aunts and uncles, other cousins and many friends.Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Friday also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant. Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Las Vegas with the following serving as casket bearers: Steven E. Montoya, Raymond M. Montoya, Daniel Abeyta, Anthony Baca, Francisco Gallegos and Mario Mendoza.
