Carl B. Lind Colonel, U.S. Army, Retired 1929 - 2016 Carl B. Lind was born on April 22, 1929 in Bethel, Vermont and spent his youth in Vermont and Connecticut. After graduation from Norwich University as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, he married Barbara Ann Eskridge on October 22, 1951. Their postings took them around the world and Carl served with distinction for 32 years before retiring to Washington State. He became Director of the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) in 1988 where he won many accolades and became an ardent advocate for the preservation of Seattle's and Washington's unique history. In his later years, his joy was his extended family with reunions in Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, Florida and Vermont. Carl is survived by his wife, Barbara; their children, Mr. and Mrs. Carl G. Lind, Mr. and Mrs. L. Brock Daugherty, Mr. Craig I. Lind; grandchildren and great-grand-children, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Emerson, Avery and Wyatt, Mr. and Mrs. Baron Zahuranec and Evan, Mr. Ira Daugherty and Alec, Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Brown, and Mr. James Lind. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery. A celebration of his life will be held at the Olympia Country and Golf Club on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
