Cara Sue Valk-Sill, age 50, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016. Cara was born on May 24, 1966 to David and Laura Valk (Wilkins). Cara was an educated woman. She graduated from Mona Shores High School in 1984. After high school she received her B.A. in Liberal Arts from Western Michigan University, and was a published author. Cara began her career at Johnson Controls and worked there for over 20 years. She was currently working for Ingersoll-Rand as the Regional Environmental, Health, Safety Manager in Texas. In 2010 she married Thomas Sill. Together they traveled and lived life to its fullest. She also enjoyed cooking, golfing, reading and learning. She was a caring, adventurous, smart, magical woman who would do anything for her friends, family and others in need. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband, Tom; parents, David and Laura Valk; brothers, Jeff (Sandy) and Thomas (Kimberly) Valk; sisters-in-law, Melanie Franke and Tracy (AJ) Haselton; nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Merisa, Meriah, Shelby, Jon, Dawn, Brooke, Wendy, Kendra; parents-in-law Robert (June) McCarry; and her furry family, Jack and Claire. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100.
