GeorgetownNelson, Calvin L. "Bob",88, passed away November 11, 2016. He was born on May 31, 1928 to Cal and Laura Mae (Chappell) Nelson in Stephensport, Kentucky. He attended Manual High School and graduated from Napa College, Napa, California after serving in the Air Force, Squadron 5 Strategic Reconnaissance Wing H, during the Korean War. Bob retired from Slesser Engineering and moved to Southern Indiana to raise and ride his horses. He loved trail riding, was a serious Civil War history buff, and an avid UK basketball fan. Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather with a wonderful smile and a keen sense of humor. We couldn't have asked for more.He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Hazel Shannon, Elizabeth Miller, Eugene Nelson, and Clara Beyer. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty (Snodgrass) Nelson; daughters, Cherie Nelson and Teresa Kline; grandchildren, Travis Kline and Sarah Campbell (Elliot); sister, Dorothy McGuffin; brother-in-law, Morris Beyer; and a host of special nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Autumn Woods Health Campus for their compassionate care.Memorial Visitation will be 4:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana.
