CAROL JEAN ANDERSON Hillcrest Bruce Lee Memorial Center Carol Jean Anderson (75), with her family by her side, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 25th, 2017 at her home in Pasco. The second of three children, she was born on September 13, 1941 in Pasco, WA to Earl F. and Edna P. Merritt. She attended Pasco High School and in 1959 married Charles B. Anderson and started a family. She was a stay at home mom until 1973, when she then began working various jobs within the Tri-Cities eventually becoming a dental assistant. In 1977 she started a new career path with HUICO and started taking evening classes in welding and inspection to obtain a journeyman status as a certified pipe inspector. In the early 1980's she decided to accept contract work (job shop) In QA/QC at various nuclear power plants located throughout the United States. In 1986 she was hired by Westinghouse/Fluor Daniel and worked at the Plutonium Finishing Plant (PFP) in Richland, WA until she retired in 2003. Carol was a quiet, happy, sweet and loving soul. She enjoyed keeping busy, spending time with friends, working in her yard, decorating her home, beading and crocheting decorative scarves. She adored her family and her pets and loved spending time with them. She also had a contagious laugh and enjoyed the laughter especially amongst her friends. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Anderson, son, Cory Anderson, her beloved dog Cannon, grandchildren, Shadow Stearns, Bryce Anderson, great grandchildren, Tatum and Tristin Stearns, niece Arnette Morales and nephew, Ronald Miller. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Edna Merritt, brother, Dean Moyer, and sister, Sandra Haller. A funeral service will not be held instead, a private gathering will be determined at a later time which will be published in the Tri-City Herald.
