Bryan E. NanceMOUNT GILEAD: Bryan E. Nance, age 78, of Mount Gilead, passed away Wednesday night, December 14, 2016 at Marion General Hospital.He was born on July 22, 1938, to the late Dorrance E. "Slim" and M. Catherine (Weir) Nance, in Marion. Bryan was a graduate of Edison High School. On June 1, 1957, Bryan married the love of his life, Margaret A. Wilson. Together they have shared 59 wonderful years of marriage.Bryan was a repairman for Whirlpool Corporation. In 2001, Bryan retired from there after 44 years of dedicated service.With a love for the outdoors, Bryan enjoyed tending to his garden. He also liked working in his woodworking shop where he created many wonderful pieces. Bryan was a member and former trustee of the Edison United Methodist Church.He is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughters: Elizabeth Weaver of Rock, MI, Brenda (Fred) Roth of Marion, and Barbara (Terry) Phillips of Marion; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a sister, Donna (Walter) Morton of Galena.He was preceded in death by his parents.His family will greet friends from 3 to 5 PM on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel. (67 N. Main St., Mt. Gilead). Services celebrating his life will be held there on Monday, December 19, 2016, at 11 AM, with Celebrant Don Lockwood officiating.
