BRIAN JAMES SCOTT, 41 FREEPORT - Brian James Scott, 41, of Freeport passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, in his home. He was born on Nov. 15, 1971, in Freeport; the son of William and Susan (Bunnell) Scott. He attended Highland Community College. Brian had been playing guitar since he was 13, and wrote music. He was the front man for several local bands, including Black Omen and Lock-Up. Surviving are his daughter, Sidney Helene Scott of Lena, who was his entire life; his mother, Susan Bunnell of Freeport; two brothers, William W. Scott of Freeport and Brett Scott of Winslow; aunts, uncles, cousins, a very special friend; and many other special friends. Preceding him in death were his father, and sister, Brenda Sue Scott in 1976. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at the Schwarz Park Blvd. Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd., Freeport. Burial will be in the Ridott Cemetery. The visitation will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Schwarz Chapel. A memorial has been established in his memory.
