Billy Solomon BurgessMarion Station-Billy Solomon Burgess, 69, of Marion Station, MD transitioned from this earthly life on Monday, November 21, 2016 at his home. He was born on May 19, 1947 in Lake City, SC to Louise Hannah-Burgess and the late Johnny Burgess.Billy received his education in the Somerset County School System and graduated from Carter G. Woodson High School in Crisfield, MD in 1967. He matriculated to the University of Maryland of Eastern Shore and graduated in 1971. His career path led him to become an Art Instructor in the Wicomico County School System where he retired after 35 years.In addition to his mother, Louise, he is survived by three brothers, Joseph Sr., Enoch (April) and Charles (Doreen) Burgess; four sisters, Clara Johnson (Rufus), Dolly Burgess, Geneva Hanna and Mary Burgess-Gregg (Frankie); four godchildren, Shayla, Alysha, Michael and Ariel Anderson, a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.A viewing will be held 6-8 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 3, 2016 at New Bethlehem Baptist Church, Lake City, SC. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in Lake City. Further arrangements entrusted to Green's Funeral Home in Lake City.
