AUGUST 13, 1938 - NOVEMBER 20, 2016Beverly J. Hidy, age 78, of San Antonio passed away on November 20, 2016. She was born on August 13, 1938 in Salina, KS to parents, Cecil Barnes and Hazel McKaughan Barnes. Beverly graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and worked for Southwestern Bell for a short time. She attended Texas Tech University and retired from the Institute of Texan Cultures. Beverly was the past presidents of: Hobby Middle School PTA and Clark High School PTA. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Patricia Babb. Beverly is survived by her husband of 56 years, J.O. "Jim" Hidy, Jr.; son, J.O. "Trey" Hidy III and wife, Lori; daughter, Tina Barber and husband, COL Joseph Barber III; grandchildren, Avalon, Cortni, Trevor and Sheridan; twin sister, Barbara Lutz and sister, Virginia Gates and husband, Roger and a number of nieces and nephews. Service will be Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Porter Loring North. Private interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
