Betty Mae (Brown) Byerly, age 86, of Sigel, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016, surrounded by the loving care of her family. She was born on March 31, 1929, in Brookville PA, to the late David S. and Mildred (Beatty) Brown. She was married to Phillip M. Byerly, who preceded her in death. Betty was primarily a Line Cook, and throughout her life she worked at different restaurants in and around Brookville. She was known for her ability to skillfully serve large amounts of people and making no errors in their orders. She worked hard in providing for her family, whom she loved dearly. Betty was a member of the Punxsutawney First United Methodist Church. From a young age she gained a love for reading with romance and western novels being her favorite. She enjoyed watching westerns on television and working through her puzzle books. She loved roses. The most important part of her life was her family. Betty is survived by 1 daughter, Cindy Gray of St. Petersburg, FL; 4 sons, Kenneth Byerly of Sigel, PA; Ray Byerly of Sigel, PA; Steve (Tracy) Byerly of Sigel, PA; Dave (Erin) Byerly of Sigel, PA; 6 grandchildren; Ricky, Angie, Cailin, Corey, Phillip, and MacKenzie; and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by 1 brother, Wayne Brown; and 1 sister, Ruby Brown. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, at the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville PA, 15825. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, also at the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home, beginning at 11:00am, with the Rev. Paul Ritchey officiating. Interment will take place at the Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Eldred Township, Jefferson Co., PA. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Punxsutawney First United Methodist Church, 301 W.
