Turner, Betty Lou 81, of Wichita, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016, in Wichita. Betty was born on April 29, 1934 in Stilwell, OK, the daughter of Luke and Alma (King) Padgett. Betty and Troy Turner were united in marriage on July 11, 1953 in Augusta, KS. Together they celebrated 63 years of marriage. Betty owned Betty's Beauty Salon in Wichita and worked as a cosmetologist for 50 years. She enjoyed her work and making other look and feel better. Her career brought much satisfaction to clients and helping the world a better place. Betty took pride in her Cherokee Indian heritage. She had been caregiver for her husband for several years. Betty was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend, and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; 10 siblings, including Frank Padgett; and niece, Debra Brown. Survivors include her husband, Troy Turner of Wichita; son, Randy Turner of Wichita; sisters, Ruby Carson of Mulvane, Pearl Hannah of Andover; brother, Willie Padgett of Flippin, AR. Visitation with family present will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016; Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016, both at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Cherokee Nation Foundation (helping Cherokee students reach their full academic potential), 800 S.
