Betty Jeanne Harbrueger, 71, passed away on August 31, 2009, in Poway, CA, after a brief illness. Mrs. Harbrueger was born on January 31, 1938, in Afton, MI. She married her husband Fred on June 14, 1958, in Pontiac, MI. They were married for 51 wonderful years and were best friends deeply in love. She called Fred her "Ronnie" and she was his "Nancy". They especially enjoyed their Saturday night Bingo together. Betty was a long time resident of Keego Harbor, MI before moving to Poway over 20 years ago. She loved crossword scratcher lotto tickets and spending time at the Poway Senior Center for Saturday night Bingo. She would always arrive early in order to save seats for her many Bingo friends. She was also an avid fan of NASCAR and #3 Dale Earnhardt. She enjoyed her growing Betty Boop collection and was fondly referred to as "Betty Boop". V.C. Andrews' books were her favorite for over 25 years. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was adored by all who knew her. Betty was a very caring and giving woman who always placed others first. Mrs. Harbrueger is survived by her husband, Fred of Poway; daughter, Michelle (Scott) Ritchie of Sabre Springs; sons, Dale (Dee) Harbrueger of Rancho Bernardo, Robert Harbrueger of Poway and Freddie (Sherri) Harbrueger of Commerce Township, MI; grandchildren, Rory Isaacson, Cree Isaacson, Dillon Harbrueger, Amanda Harbrueger and Daniel Harbrueger. Services were held on Sunday, September 6, 2009, at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary. Burial will be at Dearborn Memorial Park in Poway at a later date.
