Betty Lou BennettHolt, MIBetty Bennett, born on Feb. 20, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to the late George R. and Dorothy K. (Kaiser) Schindler, passed away on Oct. 20, 2017 at the age of 88. She was the widow of Robert H. Rupli. Betty was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Holt and a long time member of the Greater Lansing Rose Society, serving on the Board of Directors for many years. She loved travel, gardening, entertaining family and friends, sketching, family genealogy and her faithful cocker spaniels. Betty is survived by daughter Diane Rupli Bennett, brothers-in-law Warren Bradley, Walter (Shirley) Rupli and Richard (Patricia) Rupli, and nieces/nephews Susan Gunn, Todd and Mark Bradley, Jack and John Walters, Susan MacDonald, Susan Landeche and Tom, Tim and Bob Rupli. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Florence McFerren and Margaret Ann Bradley and brother Robert Schindler. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 2:00 -4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Palmer-Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Home, Holt Chapel, 5035 Holt Rd. in Holt, Michigan. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 5740 Holt Road, Holt, MI with Rev. Thomas Vanderbilt and Rev. Thomas Rupli as co-officiants. The family will greet friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. Graveside services begin at 2:30 p.m., Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, Ohio. The family would like to thank the staff of the Breslin Cancer Center and McLaren Hospital - Greenlawn Campus for their care and compassion during Betty's illness.
