BETTY J. BANDERET, 81 FREEPORT - Betty J. Banderet, 81, of Freeport, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at Freeport Rehab & Health Care Center. Betty was born on October 22, 1931, in Freeport, the daughter of Daniel and Amy (Geise) Heilman. Betty married Joffre A. Banderet on January 18, 1964, in Freeport. Mr. Banderet died on February 21, 2012. Betty was a proud member of First Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir. Betty worked for both Burgess Battery and Honeywell. Betty enjoyed bowling, doing crafts, and watching sports. Surviving are her son, Joseph (Laurie) Banderet of Freeport; two sisters, Lois (Donald) Wagner of Freeport and Donna (Bob) Dwyer of Texas. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Robert. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in First Lutheran Church. Rev. Keith Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for First Lutheran Church in Betty's memory.
