Smith, Betty Ann, 69, of Wichita, peacefully passed away on April 11, 2008. Betty was a very devoted wife and caring mother, grandmother and friend; her passion in life was caring for others. This was demonstrated by her devotion to her family; many years spent caring for her cosmetology clients and mentoring others to do the same; developing a network of friends through her time in real estate and her dedication to the patients at the Starkey organization from which she retired. Betty was born on June 1, 1938 in Colby, Kansas to Arthur and Dorilda Clark. At the age of nine her family moved to Wichita where she spent the remainder of her life. In 1961, she married Emmitt Darrell (Smitty) Smith with whom she spent forty-seven years, raising their three children and spoiling their seven grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Darrell; sons, Steven of Wichita, KS., Kim of Claflin, KS.; daughter, Kelly Warner-Feril and husband C.W. of Stafford, Ks.; grandchildren, Darrell, Steven II, Shane, Shawn, Shelby, Sheldon, Kelsey; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Clark and Paula; sisters, Wanda Highland and husband G.I., Nancy Caldwell and husband Fred, Margie Cox and husband Lee; and her life-long friend, Pennie Evans.
