Bettie Rose Branin Hendrickson, 89, passed away on Saturday October 22, 2016 in her home at Southminster, just a few days shy of her 90th birthday. She was born on October 28, 1926 in Millville, NJ to the late Wilmer and Lena Viole Branin. Bettie was a resident of Millville for 80 years until moving to Charlotte to be with her niece.Bettie began working for Prudential Insurance Company in 1957 and retired there as a benefits administrator. She was a lifetime member of the Millville Women's Club and Shekinah Chapter #82 of the Order of the Eastern Star of New Jersey. Bettie volunteered for the hospital auxiliary, loved bowling, playing tennis in her younger years and golf in her later years. She loved to fish, crab and clam at her home along the Jersey shore. Bettie also enjoyed gardening, having helped her Father develop several hybrid chrysanthemums. Bettie was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Hendrickson in 2008, and her sister, Jennie Branin Percy. She is survived by her niece and nephew, Pam and Ed Gillespie of Glade Valley, North Carolina. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Pancoast Funeral Home in Vineland, NJ on Saturday October 29, 2016 at 10:30 AM with Reverend John Nurnberger officiating. A private interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Millville NJ.
