Borresen, Bertha Elizabeth,83, known to her family and friends as "Betty" passed away on May 12, 2017. She was born on August 8, 1933 to George and Mary (Shelton) Spaugh of Jeffersontown, KY. In 1952 she graduated from Aherans Trade High School and attended Louisville Bible College. Prior to becoming a loving mother and wife, she was an executive secretary with Ford Motor Company. She devoted the remainder of her life to caring for her family.She is preceded in death by her daughter Priscilla May; brothers, Frank L and John T Spaugh; sisters, Anna May and Dorothy Spaugh. In addition, her husbands Richard A Borresen and Everett T Sharp Jr. preceded her. She is survived by two daughters; Mary R Hornek (Joseph) and their children Chris Hornek (Elizabeth), Carrie Armstrong (Drew), Ashley Taylor (Whitney) and Allison Hornek. Daughter Sarah S Sharp (Jim) and her children Charles Cox II (Latasha), Mary Saltsman (Gary) and Stephen Cox (Misty). She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; niece Helen Bardell (Mark) and their daughter Amanda Nelson.Visitation will be open to family and friends at Arch L Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. on May 16, 2017 between 3-8 pm. The funeral service will begin at 12 pm on May 17, 2017 with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Additional visitation will be available prior to the service.
