YORK TWP. Berteene G. Stabley, 91, died Thursday, May 15, 2014, in Elkton, Md., on one of her beloved bus trips. She was the wife of Burnell G. Stabley, who passed away in 1993. Mrs. Stabley was born on April 2, 1923, in Ruleville, Miss. She was the daughter of the late Ona Mae and Thomas McDonald. Mrs. Stabley was retired from Thonet Industries where she was employed for 24 years. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Mrs. Stabley loved flowers, plants, and being outdoors. She was always working outside in her yard at the home she loved for 43 years, before going to Country Meadows in November of 2012. She made many friends at Country Meadows and enjoyed being with them. Mrs. Stabley is survived by a daughter, Sharon L. Smith and her husband, Timothy of York, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Madalena and her husband, Michael, and great-grandchildren, Elliott and Lainey, all from Cooper City Fla. She has one grandson, Bradley and his wife, Loni, and great-grandchildren, Alexander, Nicholas, and Oliver, all of Spring Grove. She is also survived by a son, William K. Stabley and his wife, Jennifer of Red Lion, and a granddaughter, Kristen DiBlasi and her husband, Craig, and great-grandchildren, Brendan and Drew, all of Mechanicsburg. In addition she is survived by her sister, Magdalene Brown of Florida, and a brother-in-law, Beryl Stabley and his wife, Carol of York. Mrs. Stabley was preceded in death by five brothers. Services will be held on Monday, May 19, at Grace Baptist Church, 3920 East Prospect Road, York, PA 17406. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. with the service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Dallastown Union Cemetery. The Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W.
