Barrette, Basil D. "Bud"Basil D. "Bud" Barrette, 78, Village of Suamico, died Monday, December 5, 2016 at his home. He was born on April 23, 1938, in Green Bay to Basil Sr. and Pearl (Simard) Barrette.On May 21, 1960, Bud married Terina Prail at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He served in the United States Army. At the age of 16, Bud began working at the Sure Way stores, eventually working his way into management. In 1985, he became the owner/operator of the Sure Way/Jubilee store in Howard. His annual fishing trip to Canada was the highlight of his year. After retiring Bud continued his passion for gardening by working at Bonnie's Greenhouse in Howard. In 1983, Bud became a member of the Green Bay Pazaza Club where he also served on the board.He is survived by his wife, Terina; his children and their spouses: Paul and Julie Barrette, Suamico; Maribeth and Tim Larscheid, Howard; grandchildren, Brandon Barrette, Alyssa Barrette, Peyton Larscheid, Madison Larscheid; and sisters, Kathy (Mike) Riley, Jean (Glen) Sorenson.He was preceded in death by his parents, and his granddaughter, Erin Larscheid.Friends may call SS. Edward & Isidore, 3667 Flintville Rd., Flintville, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon Monday at the church with Rev. David Hoffman officiating. Entombment will be in Fort Howard Mausoleum. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
