Forbes, Barbara Helen Forbes, Barbara Helen 85 passed away on August 16, 2017 at her home in Scottsdale, Arizona surrounded by her loving family just as she had wanted. She was born on November 30, 1931 in Ashmore, Illinois to Dorothy Helen (Lovelass) Robinson and Benjamin Dwight Robinson. Barbara was one of seven siblings who grew up on a farm Kansas, Illinois, where her family taught the values of a strong work ethic and Biblical values. She was gifted with a beautiful singing voice that she put to use every Sunday in the church choir. She graduated from Kansas High School in 1949 and then from University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education in 1954. She was an active member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. Soon after graduation she landed her first big job flying the friendly skies as a stewardess with United Airlines. She was always proud to say that she was on the first intercontinental flight out of Chicago O'Hare International. She married Talbot Parker Forbes in Chicago in 1957. They moved to Denver, Colorado in 1968 to raise their four children while working in real estate. She left for warmer weather and a better life in Scottsdale, Arizona where she worked out the rest of her career in property management and finished raising her children on her own. She met and married Robert Louis Seymour in 1991. They enjoyed 25 years of marriage traveling the world, having coffee with their friends at the mall and playing with their beloved dogs Misty first and then Benji. Barbara loved working in her yard, growing and receiving flowers, doing home projects, going to the gym three days a week for over 30 years and spending quality time with her family. She is survived by her husband Robert Seymour, five children Patty Rhodes (Jeff), Susan Pappas (John), Robin Bramman (Eric), Michael Forbes (Julie), stepson Scott Seymour (Joanne) and five grandchildren Allison, Adam, Kyle, Kasey and Justin. Also surviving siblings are Betty Jo Campbell, Ruthann Shurts, Dwight Robinson and was preceded in death by Jean Turner, Howard Robinson and Wayne Robinson. A Celebration of Life for Barbara is being held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Messingers Mortuary 7601 East Indian School Road, Scottsdale, AZ85251 at 11:00 a.m. A lunch reception will be held immediately following.
