Johnston, B. Carol.Carol Johnston, age 88, died peacefully at her home in Danbury, CT on November 29, 2016. Carol was born on March 26, 1928 in New Castle, PA. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Helen Coblentz. Carol was a graduate of Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. She met the love of her life, Harold F. Johnston, and was married on December 18, 1948. They were married for 50 years prior to Harold's death in 1999. Carol worked for BRT Corporation for many years. Prior to her retirement she was employed by the Town of New Milford as secretary to the Mayor. While in retirement she earned her real estate license and worked for Lux Realty in New Fairfield, CT.Carol was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be sadly missed. She is survived by her 4 children: Hal and his wife, Laura, Johnston of The Villages, FL; Valerie and her husband, Dr. Lee Bennett, of Belton, TX; Jeffrey and his wife, Kristen Johnston, of New Fairfield, CT and Todd A. Johnston of Portland, CT. She is also survived by her sister Dottie-Jo Rogers of Canfield, OH and her 9 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Regional Hospice for the exceptional homecare they provided Carol during the past 3 months.A Memorial Celebration of Carol's life will be held at the New Fairfield Congregational Church on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 10 am.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Regional Hospice & Homecare, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury, CT 06810.
