Arthur G. Jones (“Hard Knock”) quietly entered into eternal rest to be with his "Heavenly Father" on Sunday, February 7, 2016. Arthur was born on March 10, 1939 in Caroline County, VA to the late Harding and Mary Ellen Hunter.  

Arthur attended Caroline County Public School Systems. On August 28, 1965 he was joined in holy matrimony to Jane M. Jones. To this union two children were born Zachery and Darnell Jones. He was baptized at an early age at Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Dawn, Virginia. He was a member of the Golden Gems gospel group, where he loved to sing and shout. He was also an active member of Second Mt. Zion’s Marriage Ministry group where he enjoyed bonding, socializing and traveling with the members.

Arthur was employed by Lucky Stripes and JP Taylor Tobacco Co. for many years until his health started to decline. Arthur enjoyed hunting and fishing and MOST OF ALL he enjoyed watching the REDSKINS beat down the COWGIRLS! Arthur was also known as the “Community Helper” he was often called upon by family and friends to perform various jobs such as vehicle and lawnmower repairs. In addition to transporting his elderly family and friends to various doctor appointments the thing that truly lifted Arthur's spirit and brought a smile to his face was the gathering of family and friends at his home enjoying holidays and barbeques.

Arthur leaves to cherish his memory his wife Jane Jones, his two children Zachery and Darenell Jones, serveral grandchildren, brothers, sisters, a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
