Aurelia "Mary" Malone, 87, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017 with her children by her side at her residence in Alamogordo, after battling for several years in her fight with cancer.She was born on March 25, 1930 in Reventon, NM to Benigna Sedillo and Juan Mirabal. In 1948, she moved to Alamogordo and worked at Vincent's Laundry. She worked as a server in several locations, such as the Hilltop Café, and bought the Summit Café in Mescalero. After selling the café, Mary became a full time homemaker. Mary was a member of St Jude Parish. Mary and her husband, Kayo, built their house outside of Tularosa, NM from the ground up. She spent much of her time tending to the farm, entertaining family and friends, and enjoying farm life. Another hobby was going out dancing with Kayo. During the week they would go to Alamo Senior Center to eat and dance. On the weekends you would find them with friends and family dancing at weddings or at the VFW. Mary was a committed fan of Selmo Rael, enjoying his performances. Mary was a very strong woman and was devoted to tending for all those she cared for. She worked very hard since a young age to mind the household, raise her children, aide her husband, and provide for the life she always wanted. She will always be remembered for her straightforward way of thinking, and personality that stood out from the rest. Mary will be dearly missed.Survivors include son Juan (Virginia) Maes of Tularosa and daughter Diane Malone of Alamogordo, and nephew Henry (Brandy) Sedillo of Seattle, WA ; grandchildren Helen (Eric) Chavez and family of Bent, Jessica (Rob) Iverson and family, Brenda (Calvin) Maes and family, both of Albuquerque, Amanda (James) Holt and family of El Paso, Benjamin (Erin) Coyazo and family of Alamogordo, and Michael Coyazo of Las Cruces; close friends Richard & Bette Colvin, Mimi Boynes, and Lina Telles. She was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin "Kayo" Malone, her parents, 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Rosary will be recited at 9:15am on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at St. Jude Parish. Mass of Creation will be celebrated following the Rosary at 10:00am. Inurnment will follow at St Jude Columbarium. The family would like to thank Alamogordo Family Hospice, especially Angie, Carol, Claudia, Erva, and Jasmine. The Malone family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place locally.
