Hintz, Antoinette "Toni""Mrs. Antoinette "Toni" Hintz (Firkus) passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Bethany Home in Waupaca with her daughter Mary at her side. Antoinette was 88, born on June 16, 1929 in New Hope Township, Portage County, Wisconsin, to the late Frank and Mary (Birllowski) Firkus in Amherst Jct., Wisconsin. On January 27, 1951 she was united in marriage to Leonard Hintz. He preceded her in death in 1977.She is survived by daughter: Karen (Bob) Peer; granddaughters: Michelle (Brian) Wolf and Kim Peer; sons: Ken Hintz, David Hintz; grandchildren: Trevor (Jessica) Hintz, and great-grandson Will, Jody (Brian) May and great-granddaughter Bryndle, Nathan (Amanda) Hintz and Bryant Hintz; daughters: Deena (Scott) Castle and Mary (Doug) Danke; and grandson Luke Danke; sister Bernie Glodowski. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers: Stanley, Ben, Al and Lawrence and sisters: Esther, Grace, Evelyn, Agnes and Eleanor.Toni was a Eucharistic Minister and loved going to nursing homes to give communion and pray with those she ministered to. She enjoyed baking and cooking for family and friends. Toni always had special sewing projects she enjoyed sharing. She enjoyed the get togethers she shared with her sisters, feeding and watching the birds, and she often took rides with Ken and David to see the wildlife in the area. Toni loved the Packers and was a faithful fan. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa.The Funeral Mass for Toni will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 16th, 2017. Fr. Xavier Santiago will be officiating. A visitation for Toni will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Home for their care, understanding, and compassion while caring for our Mom.
