Antoinette FasanoDes MoinesAntionette Fasano, 91, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.Antionette was born on November 28, 1925 to Carmela and Joseph Raymond. One of 14 children, Antionette was an avid gardener who enjoyed flowers and being outdoors. She loved to cook and bake and was happiest when family and friends were enjoying one of her large Italian dinners. The Des Moines Register once did an article on Antionette for her Italian cooking expertise.Antionette was an active member of the Catholic Church and through her faith, shared her generosity and benevolence with others. She enjoyed her many years of working for the State of Iowa.Antionette married Joseph Fasano on July 14, 1946. They were together for 55 loving years and raised four children. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents and 12 of her siblings.Antionette is survived by her sons, Frank (Kris) Fasano of Adel, Joey Fasano of West Des Moines, and two daughters, Theresa (Joe) Marturello of West Des Moines, and Carmel (Robert) Brantley of Ocean Ridge, FL: two grandsons, Frank (Cari) Fasano of West Des Moines and Nick (Gwen) Fasano of Cummings: five great grandchildren Stacia, Giovanni, Chloe, William and Ethan; one great great grandchild Soraya; and one sister, Phyllis Chiodo of Des Moines.The family would like to thank the staffs at Bickford Cottage, Arbor Springs, and HCI (Hospice Care of Iowa) for their care and compassion of Antionette and her family.Antionette's family will greet friends from 5-7pm, Monday, December 5, 2016 at Iles Westover Chapel with a Rosary following beginning at 7pm. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, December 6 at St. Mary's Of Nazareth Catholic Church with Fr. James Laurenzo celebrating the Mass. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery.
