Anne B. Carragher (The Queen Bee), 81, beloved wife of John Thomas Carragher, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 3, 1935, in Scotland, daughter of the late John and Agnes (Brown) Forrester. Anne was born and raised in Scotland. Throughout her life Anne traveled to many places; Europe, South America, Australia, Hong Kong, and finally to the United States. She loved to travel and did so as often as she could, especially to visit family and friends. Anne competed in beauty pageants all over the United Kingdom under the alias, Kim Barry. She won various pageant titles including, The Queen of Isle of Man, 1955. She had an artistic eye for all things design. Anne was also a magnificent storyteller. She enjoyed reading, long walks, and her family. In addition to her husband she is survived by four children, Grant Carragher and his wife Mary of Windsor Locks, Brent Carragher of Windsor Locks, Mark Carragher and his wife Eva of Enfield, and Kim Russell and her husband John of Somers; seven grandchildren, Katherine Carragher, Dylan Carragher, Ian Carrgher, Ryan Russell, Brittany Carragher, Sean Russell, and Erin Russell; a great-granddaughter, Aili Cousineau. She was predeceased by a son, Barry Carragher, a sister Helen Burns and a grandson Connor Carragher. A funeral procession will gather on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring Street, Windsor Locks, CT. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
