Amy Margaret Hounshell, 87, of Winchester, VA, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at her home.Mrs. Hounshell was born on August 6, 1929 in Shenandoah County VA, the daughter of Gilbert E. and Amy Virginia Feather Russell. She worked for Kmart for 25 years and then for 15 years as an aid for Winchester City Schools. She was a member of Brucetown United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women Group. Amy is survived by her daughters, Margaret Gail Brown of Winchester and Diana Payne McKinney of Front Royal, VA; sisters, Dorothy Irene Mills of Clear Brook, VA and Georgia Mae Russell of Winchester; five grandchildren, Amy Day Whitlock of Clear Brook, Nicole Cabaniss of Roseland, VA, Todd McKinney of Henrico, VA and Rick and Jake Hounshell, both of Riverside, CA; 10 great grandchildren, Theresa Day of Clear Brook, Kahla Day of Markham, VA, Heather Day of Front Royal, Montona Baum of Charlottesville, VA, Rylie Baum, Piper Baum, Skylar Cabaniss and Jemma Coffey, all of Roseland, VA, and Liam and Madeline McKinney, both of Henrico, VA; and one great great grandchild, Maggie Day of Clear Brook. She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Monroe Hounshell; sisters, Virginia Pingley, Louise Lineweaver and Elsie McKinney; and brothers, James Theodore Russell, William Earl Russell, George Gilbert Russell and Clarence "Speedy" Russell.Family will receive friends on Friday evening, December 2, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home.A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. Yun Chol Kim officiating. Burial will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park.Pallbearers will be Robert Russell, Jerry Mills, Mark Russell, Scott Hounshell, Larry Hardesty and Tommy Edens.
