Altman, 79, of Blackduck, MN, formerly of Waite Park, MN, died on Monday, July 3, 2017 at her home.A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 10, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waite Park, Minnesota with Rev. Timothy Gapinski officiating.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church.  Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Waite Park, MN at a later date.Alma was born on July 23, 1937 in Albany, MN, the daughter of John and Anna (Novak) Froelich.  She was raised, attended school and helped on the family farm in Albany.  She married Leo John Altman on September 4, 1954 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany.  They moved to Waite Park, MN and she has resided there since.  She was a daycare provider at her home for 53 years in Waite Park.  She provided two generations of care with some families and treated all kids as her own.  She recently moved to live next to her daughter in Blackduck, MN.  She was a longtime member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Waite Park.  She enjoyed the outdoors, nature, animals and polka music.  She always had a smile, was very giving, and loved taking care of kids, and spending time with her family.Alma is survived by her daughter, Bernice Dierkhising of Blackduck; 6 grandchildren, Eli (Andrea) Dierkhising, Tanya Finken, Darrick (Beth) Dierkhising, Troy (Kim) Dierkhising, Shawn (Ciera) Dierkhising, and Blake (Kayla) Dierkhising; 10 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Mike (Eleanor) Froelich and John (Norma) Froelich; 3 sisters, Josephine (Earl) Sadlowsky, Jenny Dumont and Margaret Altman; and a special friend, Norm Seim and his extended family.She is preceded in death by her husband, Leo; parents; 4 brothers, Louis, Frank, Melvin and Andrew Froelich; and 2 sisters, Rita Willenbring and Ann Dumont.Messages of condolence may be sent to ceasefuneralhome.com
