February 5, 1922 - November 6, 2016Alice Ortega Richie went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on February 5, 1922 in Beeville, Texas to Bacilio Ortega and Hilaria Bazan Ortega. Mrs. Richie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Herbert Richie, Sr.; sisters, Adelina Cooremans, Juanita Ortega and Anita Jimenez. She is survived by a sister, Clotilde Perez; children, Linda Guadarrama (Lawrence), Herbert Richie (Rosa), Howard Richie (Marsha), Harold Richie (Michelle); grandchildren, Tracy Guadarrama Reyes, Andrea Guadarrama-De Hoyos, Christopher Richie, Mark Richie, David Richie, Alyssa Richie, Amanda Richie and Ian Richie; great-grandchildren, Riley Reyes, Justin Reyes and Anya Richie. The family would especially like to thank Socorro, Sylvia and Janice who were so kind and loving to her on her last day. Also to Shirley McCullough and her wonderful staff of Casa Felicitas. Thanks also to Dr's at your Service, Alamo Hospice and the staff at Brookedale Alamo Heights for the compassionate care they provided.SERVICESVisitation will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 6:30pm-8:30pm, with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm. A procession will depart the funeral home on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 11:30am, with a 12:00pm Funeral Mass at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
