Alice Sims, 81, of Lancaster, South Carolina, passed Sunday, March 22, 2020. Alice was born to John McCullough, and Bernice McCullough, October 18, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She married Lovelace Sims and they lived together in Harrisburg PA. Alice's career was in transportation where she drove for the Harrisburg School System and several local medical agencies.  

Alice was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1960. She dedicated her life to serving Jehovah and was a regular pioneer preaching the good news of the Kingdom for more than 20 years. Later in life, when her health began to fail, she continued her preaching work through telephone witnessing and letter writing. Alice was born to deaf parents where her first language was sign language. It brought her great joy to volunteer in the deaf community often interpreting for schools and local government offices. She also interpreted for the deaf at conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses for talks and for songs where she signed as beautifully as she sang. Alice was known and loved for her big personality, wonderful sense of humor and enjoyment of wholesome entertainment. Many friends loved playing card games with Alice and often requested her delicious sweet potato pie. Alice leaves behind a legacy of dedication to family and humble service and devotion to almighty God. 

Alice is proceeded in death by her husband Lovelace Sims, parents John and Bernice McCullough, stepmother Julia McCullough, brother Melvin McCullough, sister Louise Douglas, granddaughter Neesha Robbins. 

Alice is survived by 5 children: Antonio Palmer (Priscilla Palmer), Wanda Grier (Leverne Grier), Julia Colvin, Donna Palmer Lam, and Addie Robbins, 14 grandchildren: James Quickley III, Andrea Quickley, Nadiyah Colvin, Dawn Brown, Rhianna Taltoan, Khianna Palmer, Kiahleigh Hunt, Antonio Palmer Jr., Keesha Robbins, Mei Hua Navarro, Jerry Robbins, Jeremy Robbins, Marcello Lam, Terry Robbins, 17 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, sister Bernice Kelly, brother John McCullough, and a host of neices and nephews.

The family of Alice Sims would like to thank all family members and friends for their acts of loving kindness, comforting words, thoughts and prayers, and help during this time of grief and sorrow. May Jehovah continue to bless you.
